First and foremost I am a father of 2 and husband who has loved technology all my life. From my very first COCO2 to the multitude of computer gadgetry in our lives day to day, it has always fascinated me. I love to learn about different aspects, it is not enough for me to know it works, I want to know HOW it works.
I am a veteran of the U.S. Army and spent 6 years in service. From there I worked in various computer support positions including an up to running a corporate data center. After a long stint in corporate tech, I started working on SEO and Marketing for internet properties helping companies rank their products in Search Engines, while fun for awhile it never really excited me like working on the true server infrastructures, even while doing the marketing I still was doing more of the server and SaaS work then most SEOs would have been at companies. While I am out of that work (and you really have to keep up with the Search Engines constantly to be good at it), if you are looking for someone to do that type of work, I highly recommend Dave Rohrer at North Side Metrics.
When I decided to go back into working servers and infrastructure I decided to enter into the public service sector and joined the U.S. Railroad Retirement Board. The work I did there has reinvigorated my passion for tech and I rapidly became the point person for all things Azure and developed the tactical migration strategy based on the Federal “Cloud First” initiative.
I am currently working for Microsoft as a Cloud Solution Architect out of Chicago supporting global accounts in North America.
