On my always growing to do list I have wanted to explore the Data Platform aspect of Azure for awhile now. Something that caught my eye a few months back was a series of posts done by Chris Testa-O’Neill (Yes you should follow him!) on LinkedIn that took the DP-200 Implementing An Azure Data Solution modules up on Microsoft Learn and gave guidance on the order to take them. Not only that, he broke them down into manageable bites that could be done in 20 minutes a day to help those that find trouble finding time to work on certifications. While I had been following his posts for awhile, I got to meet and talk to Chris at Ignite 2019 at some of the MCT events, which I am very thankful for as he is a great guy.
I recently was asked by someone for DP-200 resources and I immediately thought of Chris’s posts but the problem with the LinkedIn feed is of course its a feed and while the content is all up on Microsoft Learn, the breakdown is not so I reached out to Chris to ask if he was ok with me consolidating his work into a blog post and he gave permission. I want to stress I am standing on Chris’s shoulders here, he did all the hard work I am just making sure I and others can easily reference it later.
I not going to replicate the exact format he did because each post broke down the sections into 10-20 minute chunks which you can do when you look at each section, one of the things I was most grateful for from the series is it gave an order to the learning paths that is lacking from the Learn site, that is what I am going to replicate here. This path is not finished yet as of this writing (12/8/19) and I will be updating as Chris puts out his feed, but if you catch up I encourage you to interact with his posts directly moving forward!
